What is a bespoke cake and what's the difference to a personalised cake?
A bespoke cake is a cake that has been made specifically for you after your requirements and ideas, which means it is one-of-a-kind. At Jack & Beyond we mostly refer to the design when we talk about bespoke cakes but you can choose any flavour from our diverse range for the filling (unless the design requires a particular type of sponge).
Bespoke Cakes can either based on an entirely new design idea or they can be inspired by elements of already existing designs you might have come across and we can make changes to these to match your idea of the perfect cake.
A personalised cake on the other hand means that you choose an already existing design which remains unchanged and add a custom message in a colour of your choice.
I would like to order a Bespoke Cake, what do I need to do first?
Before approaching us with an enquiry about a bespoke cake, we recommend that you do a little research. This is not a must but it will simplify the ordering process.
Have a look at our available cake flavours and browse our Bespoke & Wedding Cake section and Instagram feed to get an idea of the style of cakes we make here at Jack & Beyond. We mostly work with edible, handmade decorations and avoid using edible prints and plastic figurines.
If you already have an idea for the design, that's great! You can get further inspiration by looking at cakes with a similar theme on Social Media and save pictures of your favourites (Pinterest and Instagram are usually the best sources for this). You can then send us the pictures with your enquiry. This is really helpful as we can then get an idea straight away of what kind of cake you are after and show them to our bakers to see if this something we can help you with.
If you struggle to think about a design that's not a problem at all either. A general idea or theme is usually enough for us to get started and our expert cake consultants are happy to help with designing the cake after your wishes.

What is the lead time for Bespoke Cakes?
This is tricky as bespoke cakes can vary widely in terms of complexity and size, but generally we recommend to get in touch at least 2 weeks before you need the cake, just to be on the safe side.
Our cakes and decorations are handmade and need to be fitted into our regular busy production schedule, so the more time we have to design and make your dream cake the better.
How are your Bespoke Cakes priced?
We price every bespoke cake individually depending on the design and size. Your cake consultant will provide you with a quote once we have agreed on a final design. We pride ourselves on offering affordable, handmade cakes and are happy to try and work around your budget.
